The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently awarded $16.3 million in grant funding to support 31 grantees. The monies were approved to enhance and expand the telehealthcare services infrastructure and capacity of Title X family planning service delivery sites throughout the nation.

The goal of this investment is to improve access to sexual and reproductive healthcare services for those who reside in rural and underserved communities. HHS anticipates that this will lead to improved health outcomes for individuals and families served by Title X providers.

This month, abortion has been in the news and it is interesting to note that this grant funding will help to provide better access to sexual and reproductive healthcare services for those who may need it the most.
