There is no denying that Covid-19 has brought untold misery to millions of people around the world, with an estimated 2.35m deaths attributable to the virus, at the time of writing.

In Barrie, Ontario (Can.) the families of residents of a long-term care home have filed a $50m class action lawsuit against the owners alleging that gross negligence led to a devastating outbreak of Covid-19, infecting, to date, all 129 residents along with 104 workers. Sadly, 69 residents and 1 caregiver have died.

This case could have a significant impact on the long-term care market and is certainly one to keep watch on.
